Answer:

In a quadrilateral ABCD,

Join the diaonal AC such that the quarilateral is divided into two triangles.

Now using triangle inequality we know that,

AB + BC > AC ....(1)

Also, AC + CD > AD ....(2)

Now adding up the two equation, we get

AB + BC + AC + CD > AC + AD

that means, AB + BC + CD > AD
