ABCD rectangle with AB - 8 cm, BC = 16 cm and AE-4 cm. Find the area of ABCE. I
the area of ABEC equal to the sum of the area of ABAE and ACDE. Why?​

Acc to the question, ABCD rectangle with AB=8cm, BC=16 cm and AE=4 cm.

Area of ΔBCE = 1/2 x base x height = 1/2 x 16 x 8 = 64cm².

Area of ΔABE = 1/2 x base x height = 1/2 x 4 x 8 = 16cm²

Area of ΔCDE = 1/2 x base x height = 1/2 x (16-4) x 8 = 48cm²
