Given  :  ABCDEF is a regular hexagon in the xy plane and AB=4i

To find : cD=

Solution:

ABCDEF is a regular hexagon in the xy plane and AB=4i

i  representing x plane

j representing   y plane

AB =  4 i   + 0 j

Magnitude of  AB  =  √0² + 4²   =  4

AB is at y plane

AB = 4 Cos0  i   + j 4 Sin0

CD will be at 120 °

CD = 4 Cos 120 ° + j 4 Sin120

=  4 ( -1/2 i  + √3 /2 j)

= 2( - i  + √3 j)

= - 2( i - √3 j)

CD = - 2( i - √3 j)
