Abdul started a business with Rs 10,000 and 4 months later Bhasker joined with rs 15000.
At the end of the year, out of total profit, Abdul recieved a total amount of Rs 4400, which included a 10% of profit. What was the amount Bhaskar recieved?
Answers
Given:
Abdul's investment in the business = Rs. 10,000
Time of investment of Abdul = 12 months
Bhaskar's investment in business = Rs. 15,000
Time of investment of Bhaskar = 12 - 4 = 8 months
At the end of the year, out of total profit, Abdul recieved a total amount of Rs 4400, which included a 10% of the profit
To find:
The amount received by Bhaskar
Solution:
We know that,
- Profit = Investment × Time
∴ The ratio of profits of Abdul & Bhaskar at the end of the year is,
= [10,000 × 12] : [15,000 × 8]
= 120000 : 120000
= 1 : 1
Let "x" represent the total amount of profit.
Here we are given that Abdul had received 10% of the profit in his share
i.e., The amount of commission received by Abdul =
∴ The remaining profit = ← this is the amount which is shared among Abdul and Bhaskar in the ratio of 1 : 1.
Since the total amount received by Abdul of Rs. 4400 includes a 10% profit, therefore we can form an eq. as,
← the total amount of profit
Now,
Bhaskar's share out of the total profit amount = 8000 - 4400 = Rs. 3600
Thus, the amount received by Bhaskar at the end of the year was Rs. 3600.
