his initial velocity is 20 and his final velocity is 40.
=u+v/2
=20+40/2
=60/2
=30

Hii..
Here is your answer..

Solution:-
Let the distance of one way be x.
1st Speed =20km/h
So,
Time 1st=D/T
 =  >  \frac{x}{20}
Now,
Let Distance during second time also be x.
2nd Speed=30km/h
Time 2nd=
 =  >  \frac{x}{30}
Since we know that,
average \: speed =  \frac{total \: distance}{total \: time \: taken}
Here,
Total distance=Distance 1st+ Distance 2nd
 =  > x + x \\  =  > 2x
Total time =Time 1st + Time 2nd
 =  >  \frac{x}{20}  +  \frac{x}{30}
 =  >  \frac{3x + 2x}{60}
 =  >  \frac{5x}{60}
Therefore,
Average speed=
 =  >  \frac{2x}{ \frac{5x}{60} }
 =  >  \frac{2x \times 60}{5x}
 =  >  \frac{120x}{5x}
 =  > 24
Hence,
Average speed=24km/h

Hope it helps uh...✌️✌️✌️
