GOING THROUGH CONCEPT

  • let the total distance in the forward journey be 'd'.

Hence, time taken in forward journey = d/24.

and time taken in return journey would be = d/30.

We know, average speed=

 \frac{total \: distance}{total \: time}

Here, total distance = 2d.

Hence, average speed =

 \frac{2d}{ \frac{d}{24}  +  \frac{d}{30} }  \\  =  \frac{80}{3}
