Given,

In east=35meters

In north=20 meters

In west=12 meters

In south=6 meters

To Find,

Displacement of bear.

Solution,

In the direction of east it walked 35 meters.

Opposite to it in the west it walked 12 meters.

So its displacement,

35-12=23meters(Assume it as a)

Also, in the direction of north it went 20 meters

Opposite to it in the direction of south it walked for 6 meters.

So its displacement,

20-6=14 meters(Assume it as  b)

So, for the whole displacement ,

   S=√a²+b²

     =√14²+23²

     =√196+529

     =√725

    =26.93meters

Hence, displacement of the bear is 26.93m.
