ABFE is a rectangle. The area of ∆ ABE is 8 square centimetres.

a) What is the area of ∆ BEF ?

b) What is the area of the rectangle ABFE?​

a) A diagnol is cutting the rectangle into two parts= ∆ABE and ∆BFE

line BE is common n both the triangles

line AB= line EF

line AE= line FB

Therefore, we can say that area of ∆ABE is congruent to ∆BFE.

And hence, ∆BFE= 8 cm square

b) Area of rectangle ABFE= ∆ABE + ∆BFE

Area of rectangle ABFE= 8 + 8

                                       =16 cm square.
