Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

Abhi, Rahul & Rola enter into a business. Abhi received 3/8 th of total profit & remaining profit is divide! equally between Rahul and Rola. IfAbhi's income increases by Rs 420 then total profit increased from 8% to 16%.

To find:-

Find the capital invested by Rola?

Solution:-

Let the total Profit in the business by three people be Rs. X

Profit of Abhi = 3/8 th of the total profit

=> Rs. 3X/8

Remaining Profit = X-(3X/8)

=>(8X-3X)/8

=>5X/8

If it is divided equally then

Profit of Rahul = (5X/8)/2

=>5X/(8×2)

=>5X/16

Profit of Rola = Rs. 5X/16

Ratio of their profits = (3X/8):(5X/16):(5X/16)

=>(3/8):(5/16):(5/16)

=>(6/16):(5/16):(5/16)

=>6:5:5

Ratio of their profits = 6:5:5

Ratio of their Investments = 6:5:5

Let the income of Abhi be 6a

Let the income of Rahul be 5a

Let the income of Rola be 5a

If the income is increases by 420 then it becomes

Total profit is increased from 8% to 16%

=>6a×16% - 6a×8% = 420

=>6a×(16/100)-6a(8/100) = 420

=>6a [(16-8)/100] = 420

=>6a (8/100) = 420

=> 48a/100 = 420

=>12a/25=420

=>12 a = 420×25

=>12a = 10500

=>a = 10500/12

=>a = 875

5a = 5×875

=>5a = 4375

Investment of Rola = Rs. 4375

Answer:-

Capital invested by Rola for the given problem is

Rs. 4375
