Abhinav purchased a certain number of apples on
15th August, 2018. He donated these apples to
three orphanages - P, Q and R on that day. In P.
he gave two apples more than one-third of the
apples that he purchased. In Q, he gave three more
than one-fourth of the remaining apples. In R, he
gave four more than one-fifth of the apples left with
him after donating to Q. Finally he is left with
32 apples. Find the number of apples that Abhinav
purchased

Answer:

let Abhinav brought x apples .

HE GAVE APPLES TO P :-(1/3×x)+2=6+x/3

Remaining Apples =x-(6+x/3)=2x-6/3

Q:

Out of remaining Apples he Gave 3 more apple than 1/4th of the remaining apples to Q.

i.e.

1/4×(2x-6/3)+3 =x+15/6

Remaining Apples =(2x-6/3)-(x+15/6) =x-9/2

R:

He gave 4 more than 1/5 th of the apples left with him after donating Q.

i.e.

1/5×(x-9/2)+4=x+31/10

Finally he is left with 32 apples.

HENCE THE NUMBER OF APPLES THAT ABHINAV PURCHASED :-

=> x-(6+x/3)-(x+15/6)-(x+31/10)=32

=>(30x-60-10x-5x-75-3x-93)/30=32

=>12x-228=32×30

=> 12x =960+228

=> x=1188/12 =99

SO ABHINAV PURCHASED 99 APPLES.

PROVED.....
