Let the present age of Abhishek and Shweta be x and y respectively.

According to question,

x−3=4(y−3)

⇒x−4y+9=0 _Eq-I

x+5=2(y+5)

⇒x−2y−5=0 _Eq-II

Subtracting Eq-I from Eq-II,we get

2y−14=0 ⇒y=7

put y=7 in Eq-II,

x−14−5=0⇒x=19

So, present age of Abhishek is 19 years and that of Shweta is 7 years.
