Given:

  • Total money = $35
  • Cost of cake = $18
  • Cost of a balloon = $4

To find: How much money will Abit have left after he buys the cake and as many as balloons possible?

Solution:

After buying the cake for $18, Abit will have left with

= $(35 - 18)

= $17

Now, 17 = 4 * 4 + 1

Each balloon costs $4, so maximum number of balloons possible is 4, costing $16.

After buying balloons, money left

= $(17 - 16)

= $1

Answer: Abit will have left with $1 after he buys the cake and as many as balloons possible.
