The quantity of hydrogen in the syngas can be increased by reacting CO of syngas mixture with steam in the presence of iron chromate as a catalyst. This reaction is called the water-gas shift reaction. By this process, more hydrogen gas is prepared. This method is used for the production of 77% of industrial hydrogen.
