there are three degrees of comparison....positive, comparative, superlative.

In positive, the normal word( root word)is used......in comparative, a word which compares two things is used.....and in superlative, a word which defies the highest possible level is used.

for example- good....better.....best!

                      rich.....richer.....richest!
