The elephant is the mammal whose pleural space is absent. The lungs are more elastic and are connected by connecting issues to thorax and diaphragm. Its wide capacity of air filling is 310 litres for one breath. the size of the lungs is always proportionate to the size of the body. Absent of pleural space helps in adjacent and applying negative force on lungs when the truck raises up to the maximum height...

hope it helps:)

Question

About elephant lungs? Difference between our lungs and elephant lungs?

Answer

\Large\fbox\orange{Human's\:Lungs}

◇The lungs are a pair of spongy, air-filled organs located on either side of the chest (thorax).

◇The trachea (windpipe) conducts inhaled air into the lungs through its tubular branches, called bronchi.

◇The bronchi then divide into smaller and smaller branches (bronchioles), finally becoming microscopic.

◇The elephant lacks a pleural cavity.

◇This means the lungs are directly attached to the walls of the chest cavity and to the diaphragm.

◇An elephant can breathe through its mouth as well as through its trunk, so it can retain water or dust in the trunk without having to hold its breathe.
