Fertilisation: Fertilization is the fusion of gametes to initiate the development of a new individual organism. The result of fertilization is a cell (zygote) capable of undergoing cell division to form a new individual. There are two types of fertilization: 1) External fertilization 2) Internal fertilization

External fertilization:The union takes place outside of the body, and is called external fertilization. Many fish, amphibians, and other sexual aquatic animals use external fertilization (the exceptions are aquatic mammals, sharks, and some other special types of fish).

Internal fertilization: Internal fertilization is the union of an egg cell with a sperm during sexual reproduction inside the body of a parent. It occurs in a female body. Example- humans, insects, reptiles, birds, mammals etc.

\underline{\bold{Fertilisation}}

The fusion of Female gamete with the Male gamete in order to form a zygote is basically termed as fertilisation.

There are two types of fertilisation:

● Internal fertilisation

● External fertilisation

\underline{\bold{Internal\:Fertilisation}}

The fertilisation which occurs inside the female body is basically termed as internal fertilisation.

for example- mammals.

\underline{\bold{Fertilisation}}

The fertilisation which occurs outside the female body is basically termed as external fertilisation.

For example- frogs
