Metaphor: In metaphor the things compared are treated as one and the same and the word of comparison 'as', 'like', or 'so' are not used.....
eg...life is a dream...

Simile:A simile is a comparison between two objects of different kinds, which have at least one point in common. The words like 'as', 'like', or 'so' are used for comparison........

simile and metaphor are used to compare things.

but difference is that simile uses as and Luke but metaphor does not.
for ex-it is as cold as snow-simile

love is a battlefield-metaphor
