Bassanio entangles Antonio in his quest to win Portia's hand in marriage, showing the same type of trust in his friend as Portia has in hers.

Actually Portia is the rich girl and Nerissa is her attendant. Though she is a servant but Portia used to take her suggestions in every situation. Portia treats her like a friend. She shares her feelings to Nerissa and Nerissa also supports her in each activity.

Nerissa used to tease Portia as they have developed really good friendship. She also helps Portia in the selection of her suiter. Har roll is also important when Portia tries to meet Antonio. She changed her appearance to help portia and disguise herself to help Antonio and Portia.
