KAKATIYA DYNASTY:

The Kakatiya dynasty was a South Indian dynasty that ruled most of eastern Deccan region comprising present day Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and parts of eastern Karnataka and southern Odisha between 12th and 14th centuries. Their capital was Orugallu, now known as Warangal.

It was Prola II, who established Kakatiya Dynasty as a sovereign dynasty. As per the "Prataparudra Yashobhushanam" written by Vidyanadha, Kakatiyas got their name because they worshipped the goddess called "Kakati".
