A joint family::: is a large family where the grand-parents, father, mother, uncle, aunty and their children live unitedly under one roof. In the joint family system, every member makes financial contribution to the common fund and share common rights in the household property.

A nuclear family::: elementary family or conjugal family is a family group consisting of two parents and their children (one or more). It is in contrast to a single-parent family, the larger extended family, and a family with more than two parents.
