Hi there!,

O negative or O- is a very rare blood group. If you ask someone about there blood group, they probably will say, A, B, AB or O. This is because O- is quite very uncommon. O Negative blood cells are universal, which means it can be given to any person who is in need. This thing is very special about O- blood group. Not all blood groups can be transfused into someone else of a different blood group. There are about very less people with O negative as their blood group. Only about 6.6% of the population have it.

Hope it helps!

A person having o blood group can give blood to all the groups and hence is called universal donor.
O blood group doesn't contain any antigen on the surface of R. B. C.therefore no reaction will occur with the blood of the recipient.
