let the length of two pieces be X .

Then , 2:5 = 2x and 5x

According to the question :-

2x+5x = 2.1

7x = 2.1

x = 2.1/7

x = 0.3

2x = 2×0.3 = 0.6 m

5x = 5×0.3 = 1.5 m

Length of first piece = 0.6 m

length of second piece = 1.5 m.
