Answer:-

Photosynthesis:- The process, by which the plants convert CO₂ absorbed from the atmosphere and H₂O absorbed from the soil into carbohydrate in the presence of sunlight, is called photosynthesis.

In other words synthesis of carbohydrate by green plants from CO₂  and H₂O in the presence of sunlight is called photosynthesis.

Process of photosynthesis:-

  1. Photosynthesis is a chemical process that uses sunlight to turn carbon dioxide into sugars the cell can use as energy.
  2. Carbon dioxide + Water + light energy --> Glucose + Oxygen
  3. Photosynthesis has two main sets of reactions. Light-dependent reactions need light to work; and light-independent reactions, which do not need light to work.
