Rowan Atkinson is a world famous British comedian actor and screenwriter. He was born on 6th January , 1955. His father was a farmer and a company director. He was raised with Christian faith (Anglican). He is a qualified electrical engineering graduate (in 1975). He did post graduation in Electrical Engineering from Oxford. He is an Honorary Fellow of that institute.
He was very interested in acting career during his studies. He performed in the theatre and got good reviews. He coauthored the comedy shows called “The Atkinson People” on the BBC in 1979. There is a lot of comedy and satire in his shows and acting style. Children like his style and him a lot. Later he acted in a lot of Sitcoms titled “Blackadder” and in a Sitcom “The Thin Blue Line”. There were other roles he played later on. He acted in a Chinese film also as Mr Bean.
He acted in some famous Hollywood films like Never Say Never Again, Dead on Time, The tall Guy, Hot Shots! Part Deux , Four Weddings and a Funeral and so on. He is the hero in the films Mr Brean, Mr Brean’s Holiday, Johnny English, Johnny English Reborn, Maigret and the upcoming Johnny English 3. He gave his voice in the children’s animation film The Lion King. He acted in the TV serials The Thin Blue Line. He acted in the theatre too (a musical called Oliver) based on the Charles Dickens’ novel Oliver Twist.
His Mr Bean was a successful TV serial and a cartoon serial in the 1990s. He received Olivier Award for his performance in the theatre in “Rowan Atkinson in Revue”. He married Sunetra Sastry, a makeup artist with the BBC, in Feb. 1990. He got divorced in 2015. They have two children. He married again and is having a third child soon.
He is fond of large vehicles and racing cars. He had many accidents too. He was appointed “Commander of the Order the British Empire “ in 2013 for his great services to arts and charity too. He featured in several advertisements too at international level.
