sound pollution is due to unwanted sound which is come from vehicles, factories, loud speakers, etc.. it is harmful as the air or water pollution. not every sound is noise because it can music or any other sound like peoples sound.
in outdoor
- the sound of Industries/factories, vehicular movements such as car, motor, truck, train, tempo, motor cycle, aircrafts, trains are the unwanted sound so these are called noise pollution.
in indoor.
- the loudly played radio or tv or any other gadgets, etc....
the effects of noise pollutions are :-
> irritability, stress, lack of concentration.
> it has been observed that the performance of school childrens is poor.
> it can damage our ears and temporary hearing lose.
if the sound level is below than 8o dB hearing loss does not occurs.
temporary effects are noticed at the sound level of about 80 - 130 dB.
A sound level of 150 dB or more can rupture the human ear-drums and > 180dB can kill a person.
use earplugs with the sound level of about 40 dB.
thank you.

Heya,
☆☆☆Sound/Noise Pollution in India☆☆☆
First,
What is Sound?
Sound is a form of energy which produces a sensation of hearing in our ears.
How do these sounds produced?
Sound is produced due to the vibrations(a kind of to and fro motion of an object) that travel through a medium.
For example:-
* Sound produced by a human being is due to the vibrations made by the vocal cords (Larynx)
Then what is meaning of "NOISE"?
Noise is defined as the unpleasant sound that are produced due to the irregular vibration made by an object.
So, Noise Pollution means that the disturbance made by a object creating a harmful impact on living beings life. In simple we can define it as a annoying and irritating sound made by the irregular vibrations and that creates a damage in health is called Noise or sound pollution.
This noise pollution creates both mental and physical distress. It is one of the major cause for deafness and other health hazards. Even animals suffer from excessive environmental noise. And such kinda sounds are called Noise.
Causes of Noise Pollution:-
There are lot of objects that leads to noise pollution such as vehicles, industrial sounds. Let's see some more phenomenon that led to noise pollution in detail.
1) Loud speaker: Loud speakers that are used in festival occasions, marriage time, and social events people use this in large.
2) Crackers: Bursting crackers is also a noise because maximum of old people feel disturbed and irritated while firing crackers.
3) Transportation vehicles: Noise pollution is large in cities. The different modes of transportation such as motor-cars, buses, trains, trams, airplanes, produces sound that disturbs the human mind.
4) Microphones: The unrestricted use of microphones during social and political events.
5) Factories and industries: In cities, there are large number of factories and industries. These industrial sites produce immense environmental noise to disturb the habitats of residential areas nearby.
6) Domestic appliances: Even at homes, people use large number of domestic appliances such as grinder, mixer, juicer, etc. which causes a irritation sometimes.
7) Television: Television also causes sound and watching television for long hours in just as harmful for ears as they are for eyes.
8) Building and construction sites near residential areas: The building and construction activity involves use of sound producing equipment such as cement-mixer, road-roller, crane.
Effects of Noise pollution:-
1) Deafness
2) Sleeplessness
3) Tension
4) Cardiac disturbance
5) Irregular blood pressure
6) Headache
7) Aggressive
8) Stressful
9) Nervous debility
10) Mentally disturbed and lack of concentration
Preventions:-
* People should be aware of the consequences due to noise pollution.
* There should be minimum use of sound producing instruments.
* Use of ear plugs and muffs in industries reduces sound.
* Trees have the capacity to absorb sound. So to reduce noise in road it is necessary to plant trees on the roadsides.
* Sound observating objects must be there in houses (sofa)
* Ban of fire crackers should be imposed and electric horns should be replaced by bulb horns.
* The use of microphones should be controlled and regulated.
Hope my answer helps you :)
