The never never nest is the summary of a young couple named as Jack and Jill who are surprised by Aunt Jane's visit to see their new born baby.  Aunt Jane scolds them for buying so many things with such low earnings.   Jack explains the ' buy now pay later ' scheme which allows him to buy things in instalments.   Aunt Jane leaves 10 pounds for them to clear any one instalment.   Jack thinks of using it for his car but Jill uses it for settling the delivery bill of Dr. Martin.

The following Answer is only to understand the Poem/Lesson:

INTRODUCTION:

The Never- Never Nest is a comic play about a young couple who buy the things on Installment basis. This is a comedy play relevant today as we buy all things on Installment basis.

ABOUT THE POEM:

Jack and Jill is a young couple. They live in a Well-furnished house with all essential furniture. They have a Piano, a Car, a Radio-gram, a Refrigerator and other essential furniture at home. One day their Aunt Jane comes to their house. When she sees all the furniture and a big lounge, feels very happy that they are leading a Happy Life. When she asks about the Radiogram, Jill says that it’s Nice for her when Jack’s away at Business.

She feels that it is Wonderful. But she worries when Jack says that they owe it all to her. She can’t understand how they get all those things. She doubts herself whether she has given them a Cheque of Two Thousand pounds instead of giving two Hundred pounds. Aunt Jane is surprised to know that they need to pay rent for the House they live in as it is their own house.

Jack explains his aunt that they have purchased the house on Installments and also says that the Car, the radio, the Refrigerator and the furniture are possessed by them on installment basis. When she heard his words, she felt unhappy. She never owned a penny in her life. She feels unhappy and doesn’t want to stay in their house anymore as all the things possessed by them are not theirs.

Finally she gives them a Cheque for Ten pounds and asks them to clear one of their bills so that one thing atleast belongs to them. Jack goes along with Jane to see her off. By the time he returns to home, Jill sends that Cheque to Dr. Martin. But Jack wants to pay off two installments of the Car bill. Jill tells him that one more installment would make the baby really theirs. Thus the end of the play is Ironical. This pays represents the present Man’s way of Thinking.
