Above diagram shows the experiment of electrolysis of acid mixed water.
 Switched on the current and left the apparatus undisturbed for some time.
 Formation of bubbles is observed at both the electrodes. These bubbles displace water in the
test tubes.
 Once the test tubes are filled with respective gases, should be removed carefully.
With reference to the above information, answer the followings:
a) Is the volume of the gas collected the same in both the test tubes?
b) If these gases are tested one by one by bringing a burning candle close to the mouth of the
test tubes:
What happens in each case (mention each observation with name of the gas)?
