Absolute refractive index can never be less than one

Explanation:

because in absolute refractive index speed of light in vacuum is used which is max. in vacuum . In all other mediums speed of light is lesser .

Thus, when speed of light in vacuum is divided by speed of light in other media, the answer is always more than 1.
