When small, digested molecules of food particles pass from the digestivesystem into the bloodstream, it is termed as absorption. Protein, carbohydrate, lipid, and most vitamin absorption occur in the small intestine.

Protein Absorption:

Small intestine has folds, villi, that serve to increase the surface area available for absorption. Once proteins are broken down by proteases into amino acids the simplest form. The digested amino acids from food protein pass from the inside of the small intestine through the epithelial cells of villi into capillaries. Once in the capillaries, the amino acids move throughout the body via the bloodstream.

Fat Absorption:

The fatty acids and glycerol from fat digestion enter the epithelial cells of villi of the small intestine by the process of passive diffusion. From there it enters into thebloodstream and moves throughout the body.

ABSORPTION :

It is the phenomenon where the digestion's products gets passed through the mucosa of intestine and gets released into blood.

We can see maximum absorption in the part of our body called Large Intestine.

Along with large intestine, parts like mouth, stomach and small intestine also plays role in absorption.

Mouth : Some drugs are get absorbs here.

Stomach : Water, simple kind of sugars and alcohol is absorbed in this part.

Small Intestine : Glucose, fatty acids, glycerol, etc, gets absorbed.

Large Intestine : Minerals, large amount of water and drugs are absorbed.
