Answer:

Initial speed u=80 km/h=80×

18

5

=22.22 m/s

Final speed v=60 km/h=60×

18

5

=16.67 m/s

Using v=u+at

Or 16.67=22.22+α×5

⟹ a=−1.1 m/s

Given :-

Initial speed = 80 km/h

Final speed = 60 km/h

Time = 5 seconds

Solution :-

A bus decreases it's speed from 80 km/h to 60km/h

Initial velocity ( u ) of bus = 80km/h

we know that SI unit of speed is m/s

= 80 * 5 / 18 = 22.22 m/s

Final velocity ( v) of bus = 60 km/h

we know that SI unit of speed is m/s

= 60 * 5/18 = 16.67 m/s

Time ( T) = 5 seconds

Acceleration = ?

Using , First equation of motion

v = u + at

a = v - u / t

a = 16.67 - 22.22 / 5

a = -1 .1 m/s^2

Here, Acceleration is negative it means that the bus is slowing down.
