To find : prove that  AC = (1 / 2)AB. Draw a figure and make it clear.

Solution:

As C occurs is between points A and B,

=> AC + CB = AB

CB = BC

=> AC + BC = AB

AC = BC

=> AC + AC = AB

=> 2AC = AB

=> AC = AB/2
