Initial velocity, u = 0 m/s { since the car starts from rest }

final velocity, v = 54 km/h

Converting the unit into m/s, we get

final velocity, v = 15 m/s

Time taken, t = 1 s

We know,

v = u + at

15 = 0 + a(1)

a = 15 m/s²

acceleration of the car, a = 15 m/

Now,

2as = v² - u²

2×15×s = 15² - 0²

===> s = 225 / 30

===> s = 7.5

distance travelled by the car , d = 7.5 m
