GivEn:-

  • Mass of a cart = 50kg

  • Speed at which cart is moving = 12m/s

  • Mass gently put into the cart = 10kg

To find:

  • velocity of the cart after this?

SoluTion:-

• Let's 50kg mass of a cart be M.

• Let's 12m/s speed at which cart is moving be V.

• Let's 10kg mass that gently put into the cart be m.

• Let's velocity of cart after this be v.

★ According to Law of conservation of momentum (Newton's second law) :-

As we know that,

Momentum is Mass × Velocity

Therefore,

=> MV = mv

=> 50 × 12 = (50 + 10) + v

=> 600 = 60 × v

=> 600/60 = v

=> 10 = v

Hence, Velocity of cart afer putting 10kg mass is 10 m/s.

Explanation:

✴️ANSWER✴️

mass of car = 50kg

Speed = 12 m/s

After putting 10 kg mass,

Mass of car = 60kg

Let velocity be X

Since, momentum before collision = momentum after collision

50*12 = 60x

= 60x = 50*12

= X = 50*12/60

So, X = 10 m/s
