Thaey both are acceleration bt one increases speed and other decreases speed .one is positive and other is negative

Yes the above statement is true.The difference lies in the fact that accekeration is the rate of increase in velocity of a body whereas deceleration is the rate of decrease in velocity of body.
But both have same unit because both means
= Velocity / Time.
However deceleration (retardation) is known as negative acceleration.
