D

A body having a constant speed in a circular path experiences an acceleration directed towards the center of the circular path.

This is called the centripetal acceleration provided by the centripetal force.   Centripetal acceleration= ω²r

This force might be provided by gravity, electrostatic attraction, the tension is a string, etc.

This acceleration doesn't have any role in changing kinetic energy.
