Area under acceleration-time graph gives us change in velocity

Hence,

Area between 0s and 20s = 20*-2 = -40m/s

Since initial velocity = 45m/s

Therefore we have,

Change in velocity = ΔV = -40

Initial velocity = u = 45m/s

Final velocity = v = ?

ΔV = v-u

-40 = v - 45

v = 45 - 40 = 5m/s
