Modern atomic theory is a little bit based on Dalton's theory, who said that all atoms are identical in mass and shape, but Today according to modern atomic theory, we know that there are different kinds of atoms (differing by their masses) within an element that are known as "isotopes", but isotopes of an element have the same chemical properties.
