Wow wow wow !! Hang on dude! You are going way to hard on Einstein's theory [I mean no insult by saying that]. At least that's what I understood. Firstly you say "according to relativity gravity does not exist", secondly you say that "if due to velocity we are stuck then only half of the planet experience gravity the other part of planet doesn't have gravity"

Firstly understand what relativity says about gravity AGAIN!! :

  • Gravity is not a force but a phenomena where any object tries to follow a straight path.
  • A body having some mass, causes a distortion in space-time.
  • Planets and the sun bend spacetime.

These are the same definition of gravity according to relativity.

Your statement i.e according to relativity gravity docent exist and every one is stuck on this planet due to its velocity around its star. Is also right.

What we mean by velocity of the earth keeping us stuck is as follows (I am explaining it in the most simplest terms I can come up with) :

  • Our earth tries to follow a straight line
  • The sun in our solar system bends space-time
  • due to the bending of space time the planet should fall or rather slide toward the sun.
  • But according to relativity as the planets tries to follow a straight path, they end up revolving around it at a very high velocity. So as to be in a straight line. (Although they are not)
  • Hence due to earth's velocity we are stuck. Kind off.

Explaining your query now...

"if due to velocity we are stuck then only half of the planet experience gravity the other part of planet doesn't have gravity"

By saying this statement you are forgetting that earth rotates on its axis. Hence the entire planet experiences gravity.

Even so let's say the earth was not spinning ( which is not possible because it will crash or slide into the sun, because of earth's mass ). It will still, experience gravity as it will try to attain a straight motion. For a better example take an asteroid. revolving around the sun, although its not rotating but it still will try to maintain a straight line ( remember this is applicable to every single object having mass). Hence it will also experience gravity at every part.

Hope it helps :)
