According to amendment done in Article- 73 and 74 in Panchayati Raj System, one-third of the seats have been reserved for women. Do you feel that the same should be done for State Legislature and Parliament? Please explain also.

Answer:
no and yes
Explanation:
I don't think women should have reserved seats or anybody should have reserved seats. I'm absolutely against reservations but women lack representation because of discrimination done on the basis of gender and are not given their deserving position due to sexist idiology of the people in power, the ideal way to eradicate this is to change the thinking of the people with such opinions. But that is something close to impossible, what we can do is educate our budding generation to the right thinking and till then use the concept of reservations.

Explanation:
The 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendment Act reserved one-third of all seats in Panchayats and urban local bodies for women, still, the representation of women in Parliament is not proportionate to the population of women in the Country. The Indian Constitution itself provides for the making of special laws by the parliament for the upliftment of women (Article 15) but one third reservation rule is still a long way to be passed in Parliament and State Legislature as it seems. This Bill would ensure the participatory democracy for women and will bring about gender equality.
