Barnum used two very strong words Vanity and Envy that usually lead many people to poverty. Vanity mean that excessive believe in your own self or you feel attractiveness to others and envy when you feel jealous and want to be superior from others. For example you wear expensive brands too look more attractive but you do that because someone else like your friend or celebrity, or even marketing on a television attracted you to do that. When you feel vanity or envy than you spend too much money on un nesessary things that ultimately leads you to poverty.

P. Barnum has implied that the two strong feeling namely, Vanity and Envy is reason of proverty.

Vanity is uncontrolled self love leading overconfidence in oneself that makes one feel better than other.

Envy is jealousy for others in a better situation than oneself.

Like spending unnecessarily on expensive dresses influenced by a friend, celebrity or even a salesman to increase one’s attractiveness lead  to wastage of money which will eventually lead to proverty
