I according to : the upward force on an object that's fully or partially immersed in a fluid is equal to the weight of the fluid that it displaces. If the fluid has constant density, this is just [the volume of the part of the object that's below the surface] times [the density of the fluid]. So, if the object is submerged by a fixed amount, the buoyant force will be proportional to the density of the fluid.
