Answer: Governor

Explanation:

As per Constitution the executive power in a state lies with the Governor.

The Governor executes these functions with the help of the aid and advice with the Chief Minister (as its head) and the Council of Ministers. The Governor appoints the Chief Minister along with members of the Council of Ministers.

The Governor is also vested with the responsibilities of appointing persons on crucial posts like the State Election Commission, Chairpersons and  Members of the State Public Service Commission, Judges of the court( other than the High court), State Finance Commission and the Advocate General.

The Governor is also consulted at the time of appointing Judges of the State  High Court by the President.

Hope this helps.

The executive power in the state lies with the governor of the state according to the constitution.

Explanation:

  • In a country like India, executive power exists with the president. The president is a national figure, and he cannot take part in the daily state affairs, as that would be beyond the purview of his chair.
  • Therefore, individual governors are placed as state executive heads to be associated with stately affairs. The governor, like the president, has the same tenure duration in years.
