The story of my life : Helen Keller

The book describes Helen's life from being a keen , observant and naughty child to being a fine known orator as well as a social worker . Her life story is truly an inspiration for all those with kinda disabilities, teaching them that these can't be obstacles in their life.

Knowledge is important to set us free . The statement is completely relevant in context of the story. As a young child , Helen could just use signals to converse with others . She ha d no idea of what education meant . Thus, she often ha d to face outcomes of passion and she burst of quite often . She would shout out loud , often breaking things ( like she once broke a doll given by Ms.Sullivan ) But as soon as she began to learn , she realised the importance of being calm and composed . The knowledge given by Ms. Sullivan not only enlightened her , but also helped her ,set free her mind and soul.

We can take a very simple example from the text to support this . For the first time she went to Boston, it was clear that she was quite a restless girl wanting to seek everyone's attention . But the next time when she went with Ms.Sullivan, she behaved very well , sitting quietly next to her.

Thus, the light of knowledge helped her a lot in developing herself and preparing herself mentally .

Answer:

Knowledge is important to set us free. Without knowledge our mind is held in jaws of darkness and we don't understand what is right or wrong for us
