According to Rutherford atomic model based on electrmagnetic theroy an electron should emit or absorb radiation (energy) continously so we should observe continuous spectrum but we observe discontinuous spectrum. Also acvordibg to this theory as the electron loses energy it must collapse in to the nucleus

According to Bohr atimic model based on Quantum theory and electron in a orbit (shell) does not emit or absord energy continuously hence we observe discontinuous spectrum and electron does not collapse
