resistance is inversely proportional to area of cross section of the conductor

so why are wires made thin as area of cross section will be less and resistivity will be more??​

The resistance of a wire is directly proportional to it's length and inversely propositional to it's cross sectional area. Resistance also depends on the material of the conductor, or circuit element, generally increases with increasing temperature
