according to the third law of motion when we apply a force on a body the Body of applies equal and opposite force on us if that body is car standing a side road probably it will not get in motion on the application of force by us. a student argue that both the force here are equal and opposite and hence they cancel each other . explain your thoughts regarding this argument and tell why the car does not move in the opposite direction.

yes, there is no applied force in btw them

When we apply force on car our force muscular force and car is stationary so when force is applied car is also applying force but through gravity so we cant move the car. And both forces cancel with each other.
