Sati was a practice among Hinduism where windowed women immolate herself on her husband’s pyre. Through this process, they will be treated as holy women or devoted wife. In the 16th century, Humayun was the first emperor who tried to ban this practice and Akbar was issued an official order against Sati practices. According to this order, no women can commit to Sati without taking permission from his chief police officers.
