(1)ethanol is liquid at room temperature. it is used in the preparation of medicines such as cough syrups , tincture of iodine etc

(2)ethanol is a good solvent as it dissolves in water in a right proportion

(i) Ethanol is liquid at room temperature. Ethanol is commonly called as alcohol. It is also used in medicines such as tincture iodine, cough syrups and many tonics.

(ii) Ethanol is a good solvent, it is active ingredient of all alcoholic drinks. It is also soluble in water in all proportions.
