However, none of the opposition could succeed to stand tall before the Nazi regime.

With the help of the SA and the SS, the Social Democrats and Communists were toppled from the seat of authority. Several prominent leaders were murdered.

Hitler dissolved the Catholic Youth League, Catholic schools were closed down. Many priests and nuns were sent to the concentration camps. Neimoller, the Protestant leader along with 800 other pastors were sent to the concentration camps.

Members of the White Rose were arrested and were all beheaded.
