A cricket match was organised yesterday in Kamala Nehru Vidyalaya. The match was played between the team of AC Ganguly Senior Secondary School as well as the team of the host school. Both the teams played exceedingly well and no one was being able to make out till the end that who would win definitely. The host team won the match and decided to bat first. The opening batsmen played so nicely the other team was unable to command them. They scored 50 runs in 5 overs. When they lost first wicket, they received a terrific set back. The team kept on playing well and failed to surrender to the conditions. They establish a target of 197 runs in 20 overs. Then, it was the turn of the team of AC Ganguly School. They showcased their strength of bat after showing their bowling abilities in the last innings and also played extremely well. They pursued the score really well and were able to complete the set objective in 19.4 overs only. As they received the victor's trophy, the team rejoiced.

A One Day Cricket match was organised at Maharshi Parsuram HS between the host school and the team of Maharaja Agrasen HS to mark the Birth Anniversary of the legendary cricketer Lala Amarnath. The cricket ground had been well prepared to mark the occasion and the audience stands were packed to capacity. The event started with the introduction of the players with the Principal of the host school who then tossed the coin for the toss. The toss was won by the guest team who decided to bat first. The opening batsmen played very well and gave a good start to their team but after the fall of the first two wickets the entire batting line crumbled like a pack of cards. The guest team set a target of 116 runs in 15 overs for the host team to win. The opening batsmen of the host team failed to score anything but the middle order of the batting line up held their ground well and left the bowlers struggling to get them out. The host school won the match easily with 3 wickets and 2 overs in hand.Their joy knew no bounds when they triumphantly held the Champion's trophy in their hands. The Principal gave away the cash prizes to the winning team and the Man of the Match, Sandeep Mitra. The guest team was also given certificates and gifts to appreciate their efforts. The event came to a close with an inspiring speech by the Principal and the Vote of Thanks by the school head boy.
